With over two decades in the industry, Seth has worked with some of Europe and Australasia’s most prominent retailers on his way to forming the formidable team at Datum. Following in his father’s footsteps in owning a shopfitting company, Seth oversees all project delivery – bringing a calm demeanour and top-notch problem solving to a fast-paced industry.

With over two decades of prior experience in project management, Alan joined Datum in 2014. As though managing a number of projects at any one time and facilitating the teams that make these projects happen wasn’t enough, Alan’s experienced and unique touch includes an impeccable eye for detail and a commitment to quality.

Michelle is one of the newest members of the Datum family, having relocated in mid-2018 from Johannesburg. Michelle has been in the business and retail fit out industry for ten years now and is loving the culture and work ethos at Datum. As a project manager, Michelle prides herself on her resilience and resourcefulness – attributes developed back home in South Africa.

They say the “devil is in the details”, and even the grandest project depends on the success of the small components. That’s why our Detailers like Shane are so important – taking concepts and turning them into working drawings ready for the manufacturing process. Shane joined the Datum team in late 2016 after a career in cabinet-making both here and in London.

Having started as an apprentice installer at the age of 16 before working his way up to project management, Daniel loves the challenge of shopfitting and putting together projects everyone thought couldn't be done. His job is to make sure clients get the best service possible and that all projects are done to the highest Datum standards – a challenge he loves rising to.

The variety of projects Henry oversees each week is what attracts him to his role as a Quantity Surveyor. Pricing projects and managing their variations within the constraints of the budget can be a challenge, but he is yet to encounter one he can’t tackle. With each new project, Henry brings his valuable learning from the last, with no two days the same.

As an ex-cabinet maker, Jackson brings a practical approach to detailing – taking the architect’s drawings, formatting them and making them understandable so our team can make them for our clients. Having been with Datum for three years, he’s achieved one of his career goals of becoming a detailer, and loves the family vibe here.

Our Office Manager, Karen, is the person that keeps us all organised here at Datum! Having previously worked in the travel industry, Karen has great people and organisation skills that means she’s an expert hand at coordinating our team and equipment across the country.

Having previously worked in the residential construction space, Cathy joined the Datum team wanting to bring her exceptional eye for detail to the fit-out industry. As a Quantity Surveyor, she works on tender project pricing and managing variations to any projects, and thrives off the quick turnarounds and delivering the best fit-outs for our clients.

After some time overseas getting more great experience to add to his tool kit, James is back with the Datum team. As a quantity surveyor, he helps clients ensure their projects are scoped and delivered accurately – time after time.

The fast-paced nature of fit-outs don't faze Angela, whose previous experience managing tight deadlines as a legal assistant means she revels in the challenge. A newcomer to the industry, she enjoys learning more every day. She keeps everything running smoothly by ensuring all the documentation for building regulations is up-to-scratch, alongside supporting the accounts team.

With more than 15 years’ experience and a real passion for health and safety, Tee is responsible for upholding our value of ‘safety first’. Coordinating onsite audits and meetings, first aid training, and all of our certifications, Tee takes our approach to health and safety standards beyond ‘just’ compliance.

As our go-to person for anything accounts-related, and with a comprehensive knowledge of our work and team, Jo is the magic that ensures Datum functions like a well-oiled machine.

Starting as a cabinetmaker and joiner in the 1980s, Paul moved to residential building before finding his passion in shopfitting more than two decades ago. With Datum since 2014, Paul oversees everything produced in the factory – including scheduling, purchasing, design, construction, and logistics – and thrives on the challenge of short lead times.

Joining the team in mid 2017 to run the factory, Mark’s spent over 20 years in the industry. Mark particularly enjoys innovating and finding fit-for-purpose solutions, and he’s driven by a desire for constant improvement, whether that be through training staff or streamlining our processes for even better customer delivery.
